Priokskiy district is famous for its “Shweitsaria” (Switzerland) park. The park was built in 1902. It extends 4 kilometres along the high bank of the Oka River. The wonderful view opens from the river bank, you can see the districts which are in the lower part of the city ***. The oak, linden, birch, maple, larch grow in the park, there are also pines and poplars as well as rare types of trees: red oak, Ginnal's maple, Manchurian walnut, Amur cork tree, horse chestnut, bird cherry, Pennsylvanian cherry, some kinds of hawthorn.
Every day a great number of visitors come to the park: children accompanied by parents, youth and elderly people. Everyone can find an entertainment. People can ride bikes, go roller blading and ride scooters, play badminton, tennis and other games. Children love attractions, the number of which is enormous.
You can hardly find an empty bench in the shade of the trees in summer! People relax on the slope or on the lawn; they read books, sunbathe and enjoy fresh air. Many of them take photos on the picturesque bank of the Oka River.
You can enjoy a delicious meal in the park as there are lots of cafes and restaurants there.
